Martin Beate is a multidisciplinary artist whose focus lies in building site specific performances with approaches of butoh dance and improvisation.
They explore the impact of urban life on bodies and their agency to create alternative space as parallels to limitations of contemporary world. The performance – making is a multi layered approach for them, starting with outdoor research that leads to making new choreographies and soundscapes.
Martin observes and exposes rapid changes reflected on architecture and nature that are consequences of the certain political structures.
Their drawings and video works are made in relation to their movement practice which open space for observation and dynamic impressions.
